I write about robots and smart home for Lifehacker and other online mags, and routinely have 2-3 robots that I’m testing at any given time in my home (I don’t just test vacuums). For vacuums, I run each one for a week in a different environment: tile, hardwoods, rugs and carpet, and I do so from a house with a lot of roadblocks and obstructions, pets, different kinds of debris, etc. I believe my setup, while different from obstacle courses other sites run robots through, does better at representing what people will experience in the home. often, my opinions differ from large youtubers or sites. Also, I am one of the only females in this space. I’ve recommended robots here for the last 6 months, answering questions, etc and generally, people have returned to say how pleased they are with their recommendation. Hopefully we can continue the trend.
